The Ultimate Fighting Championship presents the much awaited UFC 101 on August 08, 2009 in Philadelphia. However, to watch it live in the UK, Entertainment Sports Programming Network (ESPN) is launching a bonus channel for all its subscribers in UK on both its ESPN Sky as well as Virgin platforms on August 03, 2009.
Finally the deal between UFC and the ESPN some news to cheer about for the viewers in UK and Ireland after UFC lost its UK broadcast company Setanta Sports.
Meanwhile subscribers can upgrade to ESPN:
1. Through online mode at www.sky.com/espn
2. By contacting the cable operators or satellite providers
3. Through TV remote control by pressing the Interactive button then link it via Sky Active.
It seems that after upgrading the subscribers will need to keep the channel for a minimum of 1 month.
In the UK, the first month of viewing is free implying that viewers with Virgin or Sky platform will be able to watch both the UFC 101 and UFC 102 for no cost at all. Eventually, Sky sports viewers will need to subscribe to ESPN for an amount of £9 per month and viewers who do not have Sky Sports will need to subscribe it for £11.
Users can subscribe to ESPN without sky sports but then that will cost you an extra £2 per month.
